In short

Yas is a 141-metre motor yacht built on the steel hull of HNLMS Piet Hein, a Kortenaer-class frigate that Koninklijke Schelde launched for the Royal Netherlands Navy in 1978 and that later served the UAE navy as Al Emirat (Boat International, YachtBuyer). ADM Shipyards in Abu Dhabi rebuilt her under the project name Swift 141, lengthened the hull by about 12 metres and relaunched her in 2011; Boat International gives delivery as 2012 in its directory and 2015 in a later feature (SuperYacht Times, Boat International, Boat International). Pierrejean Design Studio styled her inside and out, with a dolphin-inspired profile and a glass dome housing the bridge and the owner's suite (Boat International). She was the first yacht built to the UAE Large Yacht Code, carries up to 60 guests and has a top speed of 26 knots (SuperyachtNews, SuperYacht Times); she is not believed to be available for charter (YachtCharterFleet).

Questions

How long is the Yas yacht?
141 metres (462 ft 7 in) overall, with a beam of 14.6 metres and a gross tonnage of 5,002 (Boat International, YachtBuyer). About 12 metres of that length was added at the stern during her conversion (Boat International).
Was Yas a warship?
Yes. Her hull is that of HNLMS Piet Hein, a Kortenaer-class frigate built by Koninklijke Schelde in the Netherlands and launched in June 1978 (YachtBuyer). She was delivered to the Royal Netherlands Navy in April 1981 (YachtBuyer) and served the UAE navy as Al Emirat from 1998 (Boat International), before ADM Shipyards in Abu Dhabi rebuilt her as a private yacht under the project name Swift 141 (Boat International, SuperYacht Times). Listings that show 1981 as her build year refer to the frigate's delivery to the navy (YachtBuyer).
Who designed and built Yas?
ADM Shipyards, part of the Privinvest group, carried out the conversion in Abu Dhabi and relaunched her in 2011 (SuperyachtNews, Boat International, Yachts International). Pierrejean Design in Paris designed the exterior and interior (SuperyachtNews), and Greenline Yacht Interiors did the interior fit-out (Boat International).
How fast is Yas?
Her top speed is 26 knots and she cruises at 20 to 23 knots, depending on the source (SuperYacht Times, YachtBuyer). Her relatively narrow beam lowers resistance through the water (SuperyachtNews). A 2021 Boat International feature quotes a higher top speed of 30 knots (Boat International).
What is on board Yas?
A helicopter deck, an aft pool with a waterfall and a spa tub (Boat International); a tender garage whose carbon-fibre door becomes a boarding and swim platform (SuperyachtNews); and an elevator (YachtBuyer). The glass dome at the front houses the bridge and the owner's suite, and she sleeps up to 60 guests (Boat International).
Can you charter Yas?
Probably not. YachtCharterFleet says she is not believed to be available for charter (YachtCharterFleet), and YachtBuyer shows her as not for sale (YachtBuyer).
Where is Yas now?
Her live position is shown on public AIS trackers: MarineTraffic and VesselFinder. Search by IMO 8652201 or MMSI 319085200; she sails under the Cayman Islands flag (VesselFinder).
